Rangers have secured veteran Premier League midfielder Jack Wilshere on a two-year contract extension until the end of the 2018-19 season.
The 30-year-old has been with Rangers since 2014 and has made over 300 appearances for the club, scoring 57 goals in that time. He was one of the key players during the team's promotion from the Championship last year.
Wilshere joins fellow former England international Steven Gerrard as part of a strong midfield depth at Rangers, which also includes Danny Ings, Kyle Walker-Peters, and Alex McLeish.
"The signing of Jack is another positive step for us this summer," said Rangers manager Alan Pardew. "He brings experience and leadership qualities to our squad and we're excited to have him for the next two seasons."
Wilshere's deal will reportedly be worth around £6 million per season, making him the most expensive player to sign in the transfer window so far.
With the addition of Wilshere, Rangers now have a formidable midfield option who can play both inside and outside the box, providing cover for their attacking options and helping to create chances for them to score goals.
Overall, the move is seen as a significant boost to the team's chances of winning promotion to the Premier League in the coming season and beyond.
